Mason, Linden, and Brennan {Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, Portland, OR}

Oh man. These three brothers are mini-heartbreakers. If anything, they've all become more charming since I photographed them last year. The thing that strikes me most, though, is how much they LOVE their mother, Leah. Love her. They want to take photos kissing her cheeks, and sitting on her lap. Its so heart-warming. I am not sure what the secret is, but Leah and Travis can make a mint if they decide to write a parenting book!

Abbie & Aidan {Cathedral Park, N. Portland, OR}

Another warm evening session with brother/sister duo Abbie and Aidan, and their fantastic parents. I always look forward to my sessions with this family, and they exceed my expectations each time, in their kindness, and in the photos I capture. Their mom Julie picked one of my favorite but least utilized spots for photos, Cathedral Park in the St. Johns area.

Abbie and Aidan have such a fun rapport with one another, it remained true that no pose I could come up with would beat how they naturally interacted. They are likely to shove each other and stick out their tongues, and then a moment later throw an arm around one another as they walked around the park. So adorable and true of the brother/sister relationship!

Aidan looks so much like his Mom, its uncanny, and Abbie has such a beautiful, soulful presence in photos, I could capture her all day and not get bored. Thanks kiddos!
 As usual, I loved getting to photograph you!

Everett & Elena {Sauvie Island, Portland, OR}

Thursday, September 12, 2013

I have known Everett and Elena's Dad for several years now, back before either of us had children (we have 5 between us these days! Crazy!). Spencer has been an important and intelligent member of our neighborhood, and we served together in our neighborhood association in past years. Now, we bump into each other on the playground, and talk child rearing. He's a great guy, and I was thrilled to finally get to meet his gorgeous wife, Lisa, and hang out with his adorable littles.

Mr. Everett was serious-faced for most of our shoot, but his mom and dad knew how to coax his smile out when needed. He loved the tractor we discovered on the grounds, and enjoyed pretending to drive it. His little sister Elena was dainty in her blue and white dress, but precocious and tough too. She took some impressive tumbles during our evening in the orchard at Howell Territorial Park, mainly while following her brother around, but it didn't dampen her spirits, or smiles. She also managed to sample a lot of the Orchard's fare, as you'll notice in photos!  She's rarely without an apple.

Thank you Everett and Elena, for the pleasure of capturing your family photos, you two were terrific, and your parents were too!
