Eleanor {Laurelhurst Park, Portland, OR}

Thursday, June 27, 2013

They call her Elfie, and her adorable nickname fits! Its been a long while since I last saw Eleanor (her newborn portraits, to be exact), and she has grown into this striking, copper haired beauty. Elfie did not care for me much, but I just adore her! Getting to see her parents, Marcus and Robin, with her, was just heart-warming. They are such calm, patient, easy-going parents, Eleanor is a very lucky girl! blog4 blog7 blog6 blog9 blog3 blog 9 blog8 blog1 blog 11 blog2

Karolyn - Class of 2013 {Portland, OR}

Saturday, June 22, 2013

Meet Karolyn, a lovely girl who I enjoyed traipsing around Downtown Portland and Sauvie Island with. We had been trying to meet up for pictures for several weeks, but her busy schedule, my busy schedule, and a rainy day made it tough. FINALLY, though, we were able to find a dry time to meet.

She's a softball player, a homeschooler, and really just beautiful inside and out. She brought along her boyfriend Eli, a tall, handsome, intimidating presence, but who is actually sweet as pie.  I was able to put him to work holding a reflector, carrying bags, and fanning Karolyn for the wind blown look. So glad he was there! We captured some beautiful images of Karolyn, I think.

Thank you, Karolyn, for allowing me to take your Senior portraits! I had so much fun, and hope you did as well.

Maddie and Abbie {Camas, WA}

Wednesday, June 12, 2013

I had such an amazing session with Maddie and Abbie, and their parents! Both girls have birthdays during June, and so their mama contacted me to commemorate their birthday month with family portraits. It was a bright, warm evening with beautiful light, and the girls were delightful. Maddie is at once graceful and giggly, and Abbie is more perfect than the Gerber baby, with bright blue eyes and cheeks that look edible. Although Daddies are often reserved and uncomfortable in photos, Maddie and Abbie's Daddy was fantastic in front of the camera, as well as behind the camera, helping me make his little ladies smile and laugh. Their Mama was so lovely and easy to photograph, the whole family was a reminder of why I love my job so much. Getting to capture precious, unique, fleeting moments for a family makes my heart full. Maddie and Abbie, I hope we can do it again! blog2 blog1 blog5 blog6 blog3 blog9 blog8 blog4 blog7

Ben {Alberta Park, Portland, OR}

Friday, June 7, 2013

Oh man. This kid is sooo handsome, so energetic, and (as one expects for his age), so NOT into posing. We tried a few times, and got a few smiles, but then Ben was done. Instead, I followed Ben and his Mama around and captured him at play. And honestly, I love the photos of him at play the most.  He has the BEST closed-eyed, "throw-your-head-back-with-glee" laugh I've encountered. I love kids who do everything whole-heartedly, with gusto. Ben fits the bill!

It was fun Little Man, I hope we can do it again!
