Caitlyn - A girl with a smile, a girl with a plan.

Tuesday, September 27, 2011

Caitlyn is a young lady who I've known of for quite some time, mainly through updates from her proud Auntie (and my onetime co-worker), Doris.

It had been several years since I had seen Caitlyn, and was so pleased to see the adorable young girl I remember has grown into a beautiful young lady. Caitlyn has an effervescent laugh, gorgeous green eyes, and a heart for animals and children. Not surprising that she is considering teaching or veterinary work for a career.

I did not need to remind this girl to smile! She smiles easily and often, making my job oh so easy.

Thanks, Caitlyn, for such an enjoyable afternoon! I hope you love your photos!

Baby Aiden - Happy 1st Birthday! {Lake Oswego, OR}

Sunday, September 18, 2011

I spent a recent morning with Aiden and his parents, grandparents, and uncle in Lake Oswego. This little baby is so, so, so precious, and (it was quickly apparent to me) so loved! I am a sucker for curls, and Aiden has a head full of perfect baby ringlets, along with a sweet disposition and charming smile to boot. Photographer heaven! Aiden's mom was prepared with balloons and first birthday cupcakes, and we had some fun photographing the little guy interacting with both.

Aiden's whole family is lovely, and made my job easy. His parents, Laura and David, are relocating to another state soon, and so it was especially sweet to get to capture the extended family together before the move.

Thanks for the opportunity to photograph your precious family, Laura and David, and good luck with the relocation!

Garland Family - Canoes & Inside Jokes {4-H Camp - Salem, OR}

Tuesday, September 13, 2011

The passage of time really is an amazing thing. It's a bit mind-bending to see someone who you last remember as a teenager (that would be Liz), still looking like she did as a teenager, yet a mom TO A TEENAGER. How the heck have so many years passed? Liz selected the 4-H center in West Salem for the location of our shoot, and though I had not been there before, it could not have been a more perfect setting! I loved the lake and canoes as a backdrop.

For the record, Liz is a fabulous mom, and I had such a fun afternoon with her family! Though they are very obviously a strikingly photogenic family, older brother Daniel isn't necessarily a natural in front of the camera. This made for some lighthearted ribbing from the rest of his brood (especially his dad), and some amusement for me, as they shared all sorts of inside jokes and stories to get him to loosen up (Don't worry, Garland family, my lips are sealed!). Despite Daniel's unease, I think we got some great photos!

Thanks so much, Garland Family, it was such a pleasure to take your portraits!

Elias {Peninsula Park - N. Portland}

Saturday, September 3, 2011

Elias has the PERFECT 18 month old cheeks. Seriously, check them out, they're totally adorable and practically edible. He also makes hilarious animal sounds. His duck sounds like a low, broken growl. He had me cracking up! He and his grown ups, Tim and Kate, joined me for a recent session in Peninsula park, and what a joyful kid they have! Bubbles were blown, hugs were given, snacks were munched, and this photographer was wishing for another day with the 18 month versions of her own children. Adorable little fellas like Elias have that effect.

Thanks for spending the morning with me, Elias. It was a pleasure!
